3 Simple Smoothies To Make While Traveling

Without question, we are all for smoothies made with a medley of obscure exotic ingredients, but when you’re traveling that is almost never an option. However, that doesn’t mean you should give up on making smoothies entirely and indulge on bagels or croissants at your heart's desire. On the contrary, it’s summer and you are on vacation so you presumably want to look your best! Here are our favorite simple recipes to make sure the beach bod doesn’t fall victim to morning carbo-load. Just pop the ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth.

 

1. Banana-Insana

Ingredients: 1 whole or frozen banana 1 tbsp almond butter 1 tbsp cacao powder 1/4 cup of preferred liquid (water or almond milk is ideal) 3 ice cubes 1 serving Chocolate WellPath Shake Mix Why: The potassium from the banana is especially helpful if you’re out exercising, and the cacao is loaded with antioxidants which are always useful. From a flavor perspective, the holy triumvirate of chocolate (from the cacao and WellPath mix), almond butter, and banana have always created one of the most decadent taste sensations.

2. Faux Orange Creamsicle

Ingredients: ½ peeled orange (with seeds removed) ¼ cup of fat free Greek yogurt ¼ cup of preferred liquid (ideally mix a bit of orange juice and water) 3 ice cubes 1 serving Vanilla WellPath Shake Mix Why: The Faux Orange Creamsicle is a healthy alternative to everyone’s favorite popsicle from childhood. An absolute American classic, this will evoke memories of your neighborhood ice cream truck and your adventurous summers of yesteryear without those same heaping amounts of sugar and fat.

3. Green Machine

Ingredients: ½ green apple (with skin, cored) ½ cup of broccoli ½ inch piece of fresh ginger Several squeezes of lime juice ½ cup of preferred liquid (we generally stick with water on this one) 3 ice cubes 1 serving Vanilla WellPath Mix Why: This is the lightest of the bunch and probably the most refreshing, though it definitely lacks the sweet flavor of the others (but also boasts materially lower sugar content). Lime is great during the summer as it aids in the rejuvenation of skin, which keeps it shining and protects it from infection and the like. Ginger provides a whole host of benefits, not the least of which is for your digestion, which is important when you’re having those vacation cheat meals that your body is likely unaccustomed to.
